Annnnnddddd We Are Back!!

I hope everyone had an amazing holiday! As I mentioned in my last post, blogging this project was definitely the hardest part for me. I have a photo from EVERY single day. I never missed a day!! I am so proud of myself. lol. I also mentioned that i am gonna be doing a project 52 for 2011. I still might take a photo everyday, but i am not gonna feel guilty if i miss a day.

With that said, has anyone checked out the site ShutterCal.com ?? I signed up for it and it seems awesome so far. They have a link that you can embed on you blog so that when you upload your daily photo, it automatically updates on your blog as well. So that is what I am gonna do. Just not on this site. I will be embedding the images and running everything off my other blog.

Since the photos will be updated themselves, they will not be in a new post and will not show up as a new post on a blog reader so you would have to actually remember to check my site. lol. In case you haven't noticed, I have stopped blogging. Lol. I haven't found the taking of the pictures to be hard, I have found the gosh darn blogging to be the hard part! I wish I could have kept up with it, but I didn't, and I am more than likely not going to. I just wanted to stop by and thank everyone who followed me and my pictures for the last year!! We are almost done! Well, with this year at least. I do plan on continuing this project next year, but I think i might do the P52 instead. That way I can focus on a couple pics for the week, instead of having to use a billion pics of the dogs or late night bowls of cereal.

When i eventually do finish my LO's for 2010 I will make sure to post everything here. I am gonna try again with the weekly blog updates for next year, so if you plan on participating in this project again next year let me know so I can be on the lookout for your pictures as well!

A couple days ago Chloe started not feeling well. She wouldn't eat and what she did eat she would throw it right up. She had become lethargic and was not acting like herself at all. So today we took her to the vet. They ran a bunch of tests and did x-rays on her. Pam stayed at the vet with her and my mom and I went home. When Pam got home with her, she had a shunt in her leg and had it bandaged. The doctor told Pam that Chloe has something going on with her Pancreas. Chloe has to go back into the vet for the next 2 full days to have her system flushed out and whatnot. Hopefully she gets better.

I have said before that Roxy doesn't really like Uncle Ronnie very much. But lately, she has been very friendly with him. she knows late at night after she goes outside to go to the bathroom before we go to bed, he will give her a treat. Ever since my mom hung the hummingbird feeder in the backyard I have been saying that I am gonna try to get pictures of the 10 hummingbirds that are always on the feeder. Today I finally did that! This was the best one I got. I am gonna work on getting a better one.

We got up bright and early today with every intention of heading to the Honda Center for Foodie Fest. It was a huge thing in the parking lot with over 50 gourmet specialty lunch trucks! We packed up the whole family and headed down. When we got off the freeway, we saw signs saying that Foodie Fest was sold out! I still don't know for sure if this was true or not, but there were soooo many people in line to get in! It was really hot and we had Granny with us, so there was no way we were gonna be able to wait and see about getting in. Next year, hopefully it will happen again next year, we will get VIP tickets so we won't have to wait in line and we will have shaded seating and whatnot.

Instead, we headed over to Islands for lunch. I love me some Islands. Great cheese fries and i can't get enough of their quesadilla's and passion iced tea.

Yay for lazy Tuesdays! It was really hot today. The kinda hot that really makes me wish we had a pool. So instead, being the resourceful people we are, we had my mom bring home a couple cement tubs from work a couple years ago that we fill up with water, blow up some rafts and layout in. It is ghetto. I know. But it works =)

Today is Pam's birthday so we took her out to dinner. Around here, when it's your birthday you get to choose where we eat! So she chose Claim Jumper. We haven't eaten here in a really long time so it was a welcome change. Chris took the picture (which we all kinda laugh at because my mom looks like a giant!) so he is not in it, but he was there!

Today was fun! Family friends of our own a racehorse that was racing for the first time, so we all went down to Del Mar Racetrack to watch the races. We had a ton of fun (despite sitting in 4 hours to bumper to bumper traffic), we got to go down to the paddock and the owners area to see the horses, we sat in the owners seating and got to park in the owners parking! It was quite fancy shmancy! After the races we went to eat at a restaurant called Pamplemousse. The food was soo good! I had some pomme frits with truffle oil, asparagus soup and a goat cheese and lobster grilled cheese! It was a really fun, but really long day.

It was a nice day outside today and while all I wanted to do was sit around the house and be a lazy bum, my mom and Ronnie headed to the beach! I told my mom to take the camera with her so she could get some beach shots for me. They said it was really nice and sunny, but when the wind kicked up it started to get really cold! After Bully gets a bath he always rolls around on the grass in the backyard. I love to watch him because he always rolls down the hill in our backyard on his back, it is hilarious! Someone on ScrapMatters posted a coupon to get 3 free prints from a company called Persnickety Prints. So I ordered 3 12x12 layouts for free and since I was gonna have to pay the shipping anyway, i ordered 3 8x8's as well to see how they turn out.

I got them in the mail today and they are super gorgeous! I love the paper they used and the color looks great. The red on the 12x12's is a little darker than it should be, but that is really the only thing kinda wrong with them. I am super happy with the 8x8's, I think when I get a book made I will have it made in that size. The 12x12's are HUGE! I never realized how big they are!

The party could not have gone more perfectly! She was completely surprised!! We ate and mingled and took a TON of pictures. Aunt Donna even put together a list of questions and we all played a game to see who knew Granny the best! It was Ronnie that won the gift card, but we all let Sid believe that he won because he was really into this game! hehe.

We are throwing a surprise party tomorrow for the Granny's 85th birthday. She has no idea at all that we are having a huge get together at El Torito Grill with a buffet and whatnot. Today was kinda exciting! My mom and I headed out to Disneyland to meet up with a bunch of my scrap friends! It is always fun to get to meet people that you talk to all the time on the computer. There were people from ScrapMatters and people from MouseScrappers!

Went out to Disneyland with the cousins and my mom again today. Actually we went to DCA. It was a fun day, tried to hit all the rides that we didn't really get to last time. But that doesn't really matter now actually because Barry upgraded his ticket to a AP! yay! Now we can go all the time =) Barry and I are pretty competitive when it comes to TSM and Buzz Lightyear. He kicks my butt on Buzz, but I always manage to make up for it on TSM! I am gonna be sorry when he finally figures out how to do the "ring around the aliens" part. That is where I get ahead every time =)

After a conversation with some friends on Twitter about cupicakes, i just really needed to make some. So i made strawberry cupcakes with Golden Oreos in the middle, topped with lemon frosting. I personally think they were the best tasting cupicakes i have ever made. I loved loved loved them! I ran out of cookies really fast (Golden Oreos are so good!) I made about a dozen regular size cupcakes and a bunch of little mini cupcakes. Here is one of the normal size ones:

A couple days ago, Ronnie and I were talking about Lawn Darts. Why we were talking about them, I have no idea. But today, Ronnie went to his friend Pappy's house to visit for a little bit and came home with Lawn Darts!! I guess they were in Pappy's garage and he had then in there. Ronnie told him how we just had a discussion about them, so he let us borrow them. They were in the original super old box too. Here I am throwing my dart. Ronnie and I played to 10. He won. Before I started scrapping as much as I do now, I used to read a book a week. In the past year, I have probably only read like 5 books. Maybe. So I decided it was time to read again. I love the Luxe Series and I had bought the last book in the series a long time ago, I just never got around to reading it. So tonight I picked it up and started reading. I mentioned last week that I went to Baskin Robbins to get some birthday cake ice cream and they were sold out of it. Well, tonight they had it!! It was just as good as I imagined it would be =) Ribbons of frosting and chunks of cake. Love this stuff. Of course I had to get it in a waffle bowl as well.

I mentioned a couple days ago how Granny and Ronnie have been playing Gin every morning since he came home. Well, now we have added the card game To Hell and Back to that list as well. Ronnie has taught me to play this game quite a few times, but I have always forgotten because we would play once and then never play again. So we tried again and now we play all the time. Everyday actually. Ronnie, Granny, my mom and I. It is actually a pretty fun game and when we don't get to play it makes me kinda sad. lol. Here is a picture of our score sheet from tonight's game. So today was pretty interesting. Chris got a call from his uncle John this morning asking him to go to and pick up some fish that he was buying from someone on Craig's list. For those that don't know, Chris's family lives about an hour away from my house. So in order to get these fish, take them to his uncle and then come back to my house, we were pretty much going to be making an all day trip around southern California. We set out to Garden Grove to pick up the fish. I told Chris that if I was going to go with him to perform this illegal act, these "fish" are baby Piranha's by the way, then I was going to get to choose where we were eating. We picked up the fish, didn't get arrested and then headed away from Garden Grove to uncle John's work in Santa Monica to drop off the fish.

Once we dropped off the fish, we headed to Hollywood so we could eat at one of my favorite restaurants that I haven't been to in awhile, El Coyote! I love love love this place. They have a Tostada Salad that I would give my left arm for most days. It was the weirdest thing, while we were eating it started pouring the rain outside for about 10 min and then stopped. We had one giant rain cloud that came outta nowhere! We left El Coyote and it was so humid and steamy outside from the rain. Totally weird.

So on our Time Warner Cable, we have music channels. I think most people have these, but I really have no idea for sure. My mom usually listens to one of the many Country channels (usually Today's Country) and during a certain time of the day you can participate in the "Show Offs." To do this you send in either a text message or an email with a short little "shout out" and/or a picture! So while we were sitting in front of the TV today, I sent one in of Sid. He was sooo excited to see his picture pop up on the screen! So I took a picture of it for him =)

Chris, mom, Pam and I got up bright and early this morning and headed to the movie theater to see Eclipse. They all loved it and just like with the other Twilight movies, I thought it was just ok. I am the only one that read the books before the movies came out, so I have my own vision of what the characters should look like and what they should act like. The people they chose for these movies are soooo not who I would have picked. =)

Oh man. I had read that because the MLB All-Star game was at Angel Stadium this year, there were team painted Mickey's all over the south land. The purpose of them was a contest sorta thing. If you got your picture will all 36 Mickey's then you could win tickets to the game, or something like that. At the last minute, I told my mom that instead of going out to Disneyland today, I wanted to go Mickey hunting. Just for the hell of it. I knew we wouldn't be able to get all of them in one day, so we chose to just find the ones in Anaheim. There were 12 in Anaheim alone, so i knew it was gonna take most of the day. I mapped out our route on the iPad and off we went. We hit up a couple hotels, the garden walk (where we also had lunch), the convention center, the Grove of Anaheim, actual Angel Stadium, Downtown Disney, the civic center and the museum. Camping day 4. Camping is very tiring. I officially do not like camping anymore. We woke up and got every packed and hit the road by 10am. Camping day 3. We had wanted to go back to the pool again today, but the marine layer just never cleared. It was cold, cloudy and windy all day long. It was my mom's turn to make dinner tonight so we spent a couple hours getting that prepared. We had her yummy spaghetti, garlic bread, an Alfredo penne pasta with broccoli and a anti-pasta salad. It was all pretty dang good. After dinner we just started to get everything cleaned up so that we could head out early the next morning.

Camping day 2. When i woke up this morning, i crawled out of the tent and asked were Chris was. My mom said that he had gone with his brother and my cousins for a walk. 20 min later i hear honking. I turn around to find Chris in a golf cart. He rented a golf cart for us to play with for a couple hours. It was fun being able to zip around the whole camp site and see everything without having to walk, lol. After we took back the golf cart we headed over to do some swimming at the pool. Kathy made her tacos for dinner and we all sat around the campfire just hanging out all night.

Camping Day 1. We got down to Campland at the Bay in San Diego and set up our campsite and tents. We had a look around the whole campsite and I must say, the place was pretty damn cool. Tons of sites, the beach, pools and jacuzzi's, a mini mart, ice cream parlor and a quick service restaurant! This place was barely camping, lol. Which is perfect for me. Our first day, instead of making dinner we went to a Chinese buffet in town. We love us some buffet =):

Chris dragged me to the $1 store today. I hate that store. There is nothing but crap and I find it to be a total waste of time. Today though, I managed to find come Nestle cookie dough that made chocolate chip cookies with caramel in the middle. For $1!!! I couldn't believe it. The cookies were sooooo good too! Notice I am "were" because we ate everyone of them already, lol. I might have to send him back for more soon =)

A couple weeks ago, a scrap friend asked me if I would take her brother's engagement photos for him (he is from Utah but is working out here for the summer). Of course I said yes, so I picked out a gorgeous beach and spent a couple hours there with him and his fiancee taking photos. They are a totally cute couple and I don't think I did too bad considering this was my first attempt at really shooting people, lol. I am more of a scenery shot type of person =)

My mom does not know how to make anything in small portions. I LOVE her spaghetti. It is probably my favorite thing she makes. When she makes the sauce, she makes A LOT of sauce and then freezes it in smaller containers for future dinners. Tonight she made even more than normal since we are taking some of it with us on our camping trip next weekend. There are about 7 containers in our kitchen fridge and 2 giant containers in the garage fridge. Here is the kitchen fridge:

World of Color officially opened at California Adventure this past Friday! I know myself, therefore I knew that there was no way I would be able to get there at park opening to get showpasses. Instead I went ahead and made Ariel's Grotto dining package reservations for my mom, Chris and I. This was perfect for us! We got to the park around 3pm, got on a couple rides, at dinner (which was very yummy) at 5pm, finished dinner, went to the lockers to get our jackets and then headed back to the show area to get in line for our seats. We were the first ones let into the area and we managed to claim an area on the stairs which will be perfect because no one will be blocking our view. This is waited for 2 hours until the show started. We made friends with the people sitting around us and i got myself and my camera waterproofed and ready for the show =)

The show was really good! I thoroughly enjoyed it and was very happy that we did the dining package. Here is a picture of Mickey's Fun Wheel all lit up with color before the show:

I usually do not go to bed till about 4am Mon-Thur. The weekends i usually go to bed earlier, but i do most of my work during the week and it always keeps me up really late. Roxy does the same thing every night as well. She sleeps in her bed on the couch next to me till i am ready to head up to bed. Then i wake her up and tell her it is time to go potty. She goes outside to go to the bathroom and when she comes back in and stands on the stairs looking at me with her sleepy, can we please go to bed now eyes. She waits there until i turn off all the lights and then she heads the rest of the way up the stairs. She is a silly little thing =)

I cannot even begin to describe how obsessed Roxy is with coffee. I know it is bad for her, but this dog seriously has an iron stomach. Nothing bothers her. Whenever we go to Starbucks, which is a lot, she goes spastic trying to get to our drinks. Iced Vanilla Lattes are Roxy's heroine. There is really no other way to put it. Even when you give her some, she relaxes for about 2 min and then she is back in your face trying to get another drink. The only way to get her to stop is to actually finish the drink in front of her. She has to physically see you finish it. Then she will go lay down. My dog is insane. For coffee. =)

Poor Chloe had to go to the vet this morning to have her teeth cleaned. She has the worst teeth. No matter how many times they clean her teeth, every time she goes in she has to have teeth pulled. The poor dog doesn't have any teeth in the front of her mouth. I am pretty sure she has a couple random teeth and that is about it, lol. The dogs are so funny when they get home from having their teeth cleaned because they are just so out of it, their tongues stick out of their mouths and all they want is to be held. My mom and aunt called me on their was home from work today and asked if i wanted to go see Sex and the City 2 when they got home. I liked it! Well well well, look what arrived today!! We finally got our new couches!! No more air mattress, no more pillow on the ground and no more ugly loaner couch! The new couches were in the house all of 30 min and my aunt had already whipped together some cushion covers for them so they don't get full of dog hair, lol.

Chris was working on one of the cars again today, so i sat outside and watched him for a while. I brought out Roxy and the camera, but when i went to take pictures of her, all she wanted to do was sit on my lap. A couple days ago my cousin Veronika called and asked if we wanted to come watch her Jiu-Jitsu tournament. She has been taking a Jiu-Jitsu class at college and her "final" for the class was a tournament. She did really well! She came in first in her weight-class for females. It was a good time and i think she was really happy that we came to watch her!

Whoo!! We have hit the 6month mark! This is so exciting.

I love Hello Kitty. Yes, sometimes I am a 5 year old child. My mom brought me home this super cute box of chocolate covered macadamia nuts with Hello Kitty on the box! I guess she found a ABC Store in Vegas and went crazy, lol. I ate the candy, but had the hardest time throwing out this super cute box!

Our dog Holly is EXTREMELY attached to my grandma and more recently, my mom as well. Whenever they are gone for more than a day she gets sad and depressed. She didn't eat at all yesterday and she barely ate today. She is such a pathetic little thing, all she has done for 2 days now is mope around the house!

We also watching the movie "Leap Year" today. I LOVED it and I am even more in love than I was before with all things Irish =)
